What is BON?
The Brain and Ocular Nutrition Conference (BON) is a global platform dedicated to exploring the profound impact of nutrition on eye and brain health. Established in 2011, BON has evolved over the years, attracting leading scientists, researchers, and nutrition enthusiasts from around the world. The annual conference serves as a catalyst for groundbreaking research, discussions, and collaborations in the field of brain and ocular nutrition.
Our History
The BON conference has come a long way since its inception in 2011, founded by Dr. Alan Howard and Professor John Nolan. Evolving from its roots in macular carotenoids and age- related macular degeneration, the conference has grown into a global forum addressing broader aspects of visual function and cognition. The rebranding in 2015 to the Macular Carotenoids Conference and later to the BON Conference in 2018 reflects the expanding scope of research within the network.
