Breaking News:  Call for Abstracts for the Macular Carotenoids 2015 Conference now open

We are pleased to announce that the call for abstracts is now open and we would like to inform you that the deadline for submission is Friday 27th of March 2015 at 5 pm EST. Abstracts will be reviewed for suitability by members of the conference organising committee, and revisions will be requested if the peer-review committee identify edits (e.g. clarity, presentation) needed to improve the abstract.The conference committee will then decide which abstracts will be selected for poster presentation or for oral presentation at the conference.

Posters will be displayed during the three day conference, and we will have two dedicated “Investigator Poster Sessions” at the 2015 event where scientists will be given the opportunity to present their work beside their poster. Also, we have a dedicated “Investigator Presentation Session” for scientists who are selected to present their work as a presentation in the Howard Theatre.

There will be a prize for best poster and best oral presentation, which will be announced at the conference gala dinner on the Thursday night. Also, there will be runner up prizes.The prize details for the 2015 Macular Carotenoid Conference are as follows:

Best Poster Presentation:

1st Place- Howard Medal for best poster and £250

2nd Place- £150

3rd Place- £100

Best Oral Presentation:

1st Place- Howard Medal for best oral presentation and £250

2nd Place- £150

3rd Place- £100

The conference programme is currently being finalised and will be published on the website soon. Finally, the Howard Foundation is supporting a “Howard Travel Bursary” for the scientist who submits the best abstract. Details of this bursary will be published soon.
